Roundtable on the Concept of preparing candidates for the first entry in the judiciary
A roundtable Concept of a preparatory program for candidates who apply for the first entry exam in the judiciary was held in Sarajevo. In their opening remarks, the participants were addressed by Sanela Gorušanović Butigan, Vice President of the HJPC BiH and Chair of the Standing Commission for Education, Sanela Latić, Assistant of Minister within the Ministry of Justice of BiH, and Isabelle Arnal,
Isabelle Arnal emphasized that the project aims to support the HJPC BiH in adopting a comprehensive and standardized framework, as well as a curriculum for a preparatory program for those taking the public competition for the first time to enter the judiciary, which should create equal opportunities for candidates.
In order to ensure efficient and quality implementation of the above, the Project engaged Regis Vanhasbrouck, former President of the Court of Appeal in Lyon and former member of the High Council of the Judiciary of France, who was an examiner at the Judicial Academy. Vanhasbrouck proposed a concept for the organization of a preparatory program in Bosnia and Herzegovina, taking into account the applicable legal framework and the capabilities of each of the interested institutions. The participants discussed this concept, and in addition to members of the Standing Commission for Education of the HJPC and the Ministry of Justice of BiH, the round table was also attended by entity centers for the education of judges and prosecutors, whose organization and experience in conducting training can provide a basis for the introduction of such a preparatory program.
